Captain Hammer's first stop after getting thrown out of his own house had been Caritas. He hadn't really planned on where he was going after that, but when they closed for the night he had to think of something.

However, while at Caritas he had taken advantage of their fine selection of spirits, and and the moment wasn't really capable of thinking of much other than walking upright (which was nearly impossible at this point) and remembering the words to 'Maneater'.

"Oh here she comes / Watch out boy she'll chew you up / Oh here she comes / She's a maneater!"

So it was that he tumbled onto the church's front steps as he came to a climatic finish of the song. singing at the top of his lungs and posing dramatically against the tall, worn wooden doors. A moment later he lost his balance and fell against them, chuckling to himself.

She recognized that voice (not surprising, considering how much she'd been admiring it yesterday).

Brow furrowing, she set the glass down on the counter and unlatched the kitchen door. The night air was cool against her skin, but warm enough that she didn't feel too uncomfortable, even in her rather un-nun-like t-shirt and boy shorts.

Padding down the small, paved path, she rounded the corner to reach the front of the church. Sure enough, her thoughts were confirmed when she caught sight of Hammer, in time to watch him collapse on the steps.

"Captain!"

She rushed over to his side, quickly dropping down next to him. "Are you alright?"

Captain Hammer looked over at Jilly, his eyes growing wide at seeing so much Nun-Skin. His movements were sluggish and erratic from the alcohol, and he had to blink a moment before answering.

"She burned it." He gave an exaggerated nod, as if that was explanation enough, and a moment later his face squinched up and he was sobbing. "She burned it!"

Oh dear.

Moving to sit on the step beside him, she gently patted his back as he cried, worry evident - especially when she caught a whiff of the alcohol. This couldn't be good.

"Hush," she murmured, speaking gently. "Hush now... what was burned? What happened?"
