It was amazing that when she was totally content to hide from the world at large, that's when people decided to pay her random visits. She wasn't brooding as much as she was thinking, but Claire wondered if she would have been better off hiding on the roof.

She was being dramatic, but such was Claire's life.

Fortunately, thinking was accompanied by obsessive organizing and cleaning, so her room was in presentable shape, free of the piles of movies and books she had gathered to distract herself but ultimately ended throwing aside because they didn't hold her interest.

Regardless of her thinking and cleaning, Claire opened the door with a smile, even before seeing it was Clark.

"Oh, hey. What's all this?"

Clark smiled back, picking the movies out of the bowl again. He gestured with them, casually.

"I figured I'd come over and see if you were up for a movie night."

"When am I not?"

Now, actually, was one of the times when she was not really feeling a movie night, but to say no would be a tell-tale sign something was bothering her. She was being hypocritical for not wanting to talk about it. She had told her dad that she wanted to live more honestly, and allowing Gretchen to hear about her worries had made her feel better.

... she just had a sinking feeling Clark wouldn't be happy with what she had done.

Still, she opened the door and ushered him in.

"Never," Clark smiled, stepping in and setting down the bowl of goodies on her coffee table. "Been cleaning, I see."

His room wasn't exactly the usual picture of tidiness it was these days. Clark had woken up a few times to find himself knocking something over in mid-air, having been floating in his sleep, and Krypto got into his fair share of trouble on top of that.

... he really needed to get that dog back to Kon.
