Misa hadn't meant to want to know him. Actually, she hadn't really wanted to know anyone lately. She wanted to go home. She told everyone she wanted to see Light again, but she had fuzzy shapes of his time here and her insides felt cold. She couldn't love him here, she'd figured that much out. A life without love, Misa didn't want any part of that. If she went home, she would be normal again. A normal girl with a normal romance, and she would find her place. She could love Light there, like she was meant to. She could help Kira create a better world. She wouldn't need to watch the people she liked in the castle disappear and forget her

Itachi did not move his body, only his eyes when he heard his name being shouted. That was surprising, too - he hadn't been around someone so energetic in awhile (excluding Naruto, who was a different, I'm-going-to-kill-you-for-screwing-my-best-friend-up kind of energetic when he was around) besides Tobi, but in that case it was simply an act to fool the other Akatsuki members. It was bizarre, having someone who was .. well, excited to see him, but everything about this place was bizarre. He had no time to waste adjusting to something that would be his new home. After all, he couldn't actually go home now that he was dead. But, he supposed, that was the nice thing about this place ... he really had nothing to lose. Except Sasuke, but judging by what he had read ... if Sasuke left, he would likely come back again sooner or later

Ah ha, it was like meeting up with Yuu Yuu for the first time again. Those two would get along. Misa tut-tuted him with a wink and wagged a manicured finger in his direction. "Don't you want to reinvent yourself, Itachi-chan? You're dead! Live a little!"

She beamed at his politeness. It was so hard to find people at home who were nice to girls without having dirty intentions. The boys who bought you drinks you didn't ask for like it meant they could come home with you. Light must've been a polite boy, that's why Misa liked him so much. That's why Misa liked her friends here, too. No one seemed to know much about models and actresses. She thanked him as she looped an arm around his.

"Misa didn't know you were so polite, too. That's impressive! So do ninjas get drunk?"

He blinked at her suggestion, mostly considering the irony of what she had said. Reinventing himself was not really high on his list of priorities - actually, it probably wasn't even there at all - so he had nothing to say to her question. Instead, he simply shrugged lightly, watching as she went through the door. An eyebrow quirked as she took his arm, though he did not flinch or show any sign of discomfort - she knew he was responsible for the death of an entire family, no matter how good his intentions had been ... yet she was still as clingy as she had been in the elevator when she thought he was just some guy
