Mai had yet to put her bathing suit on, but had checked in the mirror to make sure she had not gained any flab from sitting around in a room so much. Not that she was self-conscious or anything, but her two friends were incredibly attractive, and she didn't want to start a broodfest in the pool with them.
"I hope it's not about the body."

She pried Mai's hand off her nose and inspected the cloth. No blood. Sighing in relief, she walked over to Mai's bed and flopped down on it. She bounced. Hm. Kind of lumpy. She looked at her friend once more as she pulled the bathing suit out of her bag and asked, "why aren't you changed yet? Where's your cute bathing suit?" As if to emphasize this, she whipped out her own and waved it in front of Mai's face, smiling widely. "TA-DA! My famous bathing suit. It holds so many memories!"
She didn't bother to mention that she'd only worn it once at Ember Island.

Not to mention the sight. The sight of a burnt corpse, no matter how many times Mai saw it, never got less disgusting.
She decided to keep quiet about the body, not wanting to upset Ty Lee or ruin her chirpy mood. Certainly a cadaver would ruin the 'aura' of the floor or something. Not that Mai understood anything about that stuff.
"We can change here." She eyed Ty Lee's bathing suit, giving a "Hm" to her comment, then pulled her own out of the dresser. Complete with the cape.
"What were you going to ask me, then?"

"I mean, her aura's still the same passionate red," she continued, as if Mai knew (and cared) about what she was saying. "But I sense some disturbance in her chi!"
She turned back around, looking earnestly at her friend. Oh, gosh. It was that bathing suit. Why the cape? "Should I ask her about it, or will it ruin our evening?"
