Shito had read part of the entry where the party was recorded. Only a part, but enough to know that not going was a good plan, and that agreeing to have some cake was a bad one.

A very bad idea.

Hearing the knocking, the zombie pushed himself away from the table to open the door. He didn't want to know if Endrance got the cake (and he hoped that the other didn't manage to procure any at all), and he did not want to eat the cake where... Ugh.

"... Endrance..."

Shito moved out of the doorway and sighed in defeat. So much for not managing to grab any cake...

"Shito, I have missed you so very much." Endrance spoke gently, acting as if he had been apart from the zombie for some insane amount of time. He walked into the male's room, each step an incredible display in elegance. When he was in the room, he laid the cake on the table, and turned to stare at his comrade.

"It was quite a party. There was so much love and grace, and the youthful splendor of it all was incredibly captivating." The swordsman spoke, as if reviewing some incredible play or perhaps an opera. "But...it was not nearly as beautiful as it could have been." He reached a hand out and held it out towards Shito.

"For you were not there to make it so." And neither was Haseo, but he was trying to leave any possible instance of conflict out of this as possible. And Mr. Not-Really-Haseo only generated that conflict in his heart.

He blinked. Then blinked again before leaning back against the wall, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Sometimes, those compliments come off sounding insanely odd."

Pushing away from the wall, Shito walked past Endrance to look at the cake suspiciously. The fact Haseo was here didn't bother Shito much, dealing with people from your own world shouldn't have to involve him (and he did speak with the previous Haseo...)

"... Is this thing even safe to eat?"

He nodded his head in response and brought his hands to his chest, holding them over where his heart was. "I speak from my heart, so that the words you receive are as pure and truthful as possible." And he really did mean it.

And then he turned to the cake, eyes beaming with joy as he strode over to the table.

"But of course, Shito. This was a cake that was created by love and companionship. By emotions so pure and so beautiful." He turned to glance at his own companion again, mentally wondering if he might get Gai to prepare Shito's cake as well. "I could think of no better cake to share with you than this one."

Sparing a glance to the person standing next to him, Shito resumed staring distastefully at the cake.

"... Endrance. Did you forget the detail that there were people in this cake - or something like that - before?"

He may have been a zombie, but Shito did not enjoy the common knowledge that, yes! Zombies doe eat human flesh! And as one with a sense of self-consciousness... Just no.

And there was no way that was sanitary, what the hell were the people thinking? (Then again, he didn't know about the other type of cake that went around a while ago...)

"And you couldn't settle for not sharing cake with me?"

The taller male brushed a few strands of hair out of his face, staring at the cake passionately.

"But of course I have not forgot. That is what makes it such a pure and beautiful cake. The fact that pure and beautiful people were inside of it." He turned to face Shito, ever so slightly confused about why that should matter. Cake was cake, was it not?

"If it is of any benefit, I took it from the edge of the cake."

And then he paused, and the precious demeanor of joy that was surrounding him flickered a bit.

"I wanted to share something that was filled with love." He said gently, glancing back at the cake before attaching his eyes to Shito once more.

Oh... He knew these scenarios. If he looked at Endrance now, his determination to talk himself out of eating the cake will fail. That's right, that happened with Akatsuki a few times, and with Elk once or twice. He was getting soft.

"..."

His emotions should have died centuries ago, that's what he told Ichinose those months ago. Why did he feel guilty for this? Damn them! There will be hell to pay if anyone from Xu Fu showed up to see their prototype act like this...

"... At least it's from the edge." What am I saying?

Shito still refused to look at Ichinose. Just because he admitted defeat does not mean he'll be looking at either of them in the face while doing it.

To those that were in tune with atmosphere and auras, they would have probably been blown off their feet and through the nearest wall at the sudden burst that swept outwards from Endrance.

And even though the zombie was not looking at him, he was still happy just to have his offer accepted. "Thank you, Shito. I have looked forward to sharing this with you. More than anything else." Definitely have Gai prepare cake for Shito-party.

He wasted no time in cutting up what was there into two slices, and handing one of the special cake pieces to Shito.

He may not have been as in tune with people's emotions as some others, but Shito knew that he will not be getting any sleep tonight. Damn him, damn them and all every god that exists, has existed and will exist. Grumble grumble.

Sighing again, he turned to look at the cake being offered.

I can't believe I'm going to eat this.

The sensation of the muscle under his eye twitching was all to obvious to him. Shito didn't really like sweet things (or what Westerners considered sweet, he blames it on eating Chinese food for the past hundred years or so) and this... Was going to be disgusting.

He took the cake, then looked at Endrance blankly. Tomorrow, he'll be spending the morning in the shooting range for sure.

Endrance himself spared the cake one additional glance, not sure how something that was made of such pure and awesome emotion would taste. Would it be sweet? Or super sweet? He had not had any while at the party.

He did not want to betray Shito and steal from him this special and unique moment.

"To love." He spoke elegantly, rather oblivious to the twitch and DEATH demeanor seeping out of Shito. With the same type of grace he carried himself with normally, he plunged the fork into the cake, and moments later, had popped it into his mouth.
