If he didn't help them, who would?
And that was how Riku found himself frogjumping terriers as he fought his way down the floors of the castle, zipping by people he might've recognized, and launching himself out of a second story window. It would've been suicidal if he wasn't used to dodging gravity anyway. He clung to the brief sill, searching for and immediately spotting the target: a pink-haired vision of death in comparison to a smaller, shaking figure.
Willing his feet to fly, Riku melted into a silver and navy blur as he shot toward them. That cloak meant Organization XIII, he could spot it from a mile away; the scythe and vines could've only meant the one called Marluxia. He remembered, from DiZ's...
FOCUS! He wasn't about to throw his keyblade, but like hell he ( ... )

"Boy, what are you doing here?" He grinned, readying his scythe. "I thought that was Sora's job... to save people who don't need saving and all that."

It was Riku. His mouth made the movements of his name, but no sound came out. He cursed the castle... and thanked whatever God was responsible for sending Riku to come to his rescue. He refrained from moving much further than curling himself up, covering his stomach and throat and most vital areas. He didn't want to get injured anymore. He wanted to get to the clinic, get to the room...
He wanted to get to Chris.

"My name is Riku, not 'Boy.'" Riku remained at medium range, keyblade raised in his usual fashion like a snake ready to strike. "I'm here because I'd rather fall back into darkness than let one of you kill an innocent." Marluxia's bloodstained image was rather haunting. "He doesn't even have a weapon. Just when I thought you couldn't get any lower, you prove you truly have no mercy--"
The teen lowered into a crouch. "-- so I won't show any to you!"

It was at that point that he finally felt safe, no longer vulnerable, and he was able to relax just a little bit...

"So, you can't talk." It was a statement, not a question. Riku seemed to space whoever had that affliction in the castle, seeing as it was the very day he arrived himself. He offered Hamlet the clipboard and pen. "Can you write, or are you too sick? If you don't have any friends or anything, it's fine. I can stay all night to make sure that bastard doesn't come back for a second round."

"I don't think you remember me, but I don't blame you, since we've never met face-to-face. It's Hamlet. We met last night... remember? The castle's temporarily (I hope!) taken away my voice... It should be back in the next couple days, though.
Riku, I need you to do something for me. I need you to call out for someone named 'Chris'. Call out for him and tell him to come here. You'll understand once you've done it."

"Call out... out loud?" He fixated the boy with a strange look. It wasn't much better than sending a messenger dog, he supposed, though there were plenty around these days. He'd heard of stranger ways to get someone's attention. Like talking magical journals. Riku turned toward the door and framed his mouth with his hands.
"CHRIIIISSSS! YOU NEED TO COME HERE!" Riku let his hands drop back to his sides and tilted his head, waiting.
