Kadaj smirked, just like he usually did before a fight that he'd anticipated (as opposed to being caught off guard.) He reached behind his back for the hilt of his double bladed katana and pulled it out as he neared the door of room 511. He spotted Rufus Shinra's room almost right across the hall and Vincent's at the end. He'd remember that.
But for now, he had something more exciting to do than bother them.
He hit Narshen's door with the ball of his foot and sent it rocketing inwards, violently open, hoping to seize an opportunity by causing a moment of surprise. He really didn't know how strong his opponent would be, but he couldn't possibly imagine someone being able to outclass him to the point of being in danger of dying (other than his big brother, of course. Damn him.)
At the sound of the door blasting open, Narshen looked up calmly. He had been expecting the boy to try and make an entracnce, and remained calm and collected throughout it. "So energetic... How amusing!" He laughed, taking his sweet time to stand up, stretch, and remove his pointed blade from the sheath.
Why wait? They could get started now!
"Are you prepared to lose?" Nobody was more glorious in battle than himself, after all.
"No," Kadaj replied, flipping the sword hilt in his and and bringing it in a full arc to hover in front of him instead of behind his thigh where he'd been dragging it before. He grinned, instead, wondering if he'd have to use the materia he'd crammed into his arm.
He hoped not. He had more fun with swords, anyway.
He was slightly disappointed that his entrance didn't do anything for his new opponent, but it wasn't the end of the world. He was used to enemies fleeing from him when they knew of his approach, not standing still and facing him head-on. It was exhilarating, but he knew he'd have to do a lot of legwork to make himself known in this world as he was in his own.
He was fine with that. It would be more fun that way. He started by stepping forward with his left foot and whipping the twin blades of the Souba at Narshen's shoulder with a twist of his wrist and shoulder.

He hadn't been in Paradisa very long, after all.

Swinging his own sword in a downwards arc, he hoped to catch Kadaj before he had a chance to follow up his first attack.
"You should be...!"
