This was not going to get any easier, was it?
She couldn't help flinching at the noises whatever creature outside her door was making. She knew it was a monster, but it bothered her anyway. Gathering the last of her essentials (just a few candles she still had remaining), she turned just in time to see the door fall over, and couldn't help a small shiver.
"Yes," she said, so softly it was almost inaudible. Her staff was already in her hand, and the few orbs of materia she'd attached to it glowed softly. "But none of my materia can be used offensively.. I'm only good for healing." She shook her head as if to clear it. "Where are we going?"

As his twin killed another dog, One looked out and considered the other few hanging around solemnly. "Do you think we could breed Duchess and domesticate the puppies?" Wouldn't that be a mood-setter; the Merovingian would probably love the idea of having the things sitting around, tame as kittens, once they were improved in the looks department.

Healing? he thought. With the twins, in a situation like this, that was the most useless ability you could possibly posses (well, unless you had some sort of offense as well). His slight frustration, though, didn't show through his pasty stoic face. "Save that for yourself," he said oh-so-helpfully, turning and striding into the hallway over the fallen door. A grotesque series of noises - something along the lines of crack-squish-crunch - followed his footsteps as his weight pushed the door against the monster body (or bodies) beneath it ( ... )

.. well, she'd have to wonder what on Gaia had possessed her later.
It was a little difficult to tell the twins apart - they did, of course, look exactly the same. But she was able to keep an eye on Two by his mannerisms, and couldn't help but wonder yet again why they were so different and yet supposed to be the same. One's comment, however, earned him a glance. "Duchess?"
"I wasn't planning on using it on you," she said in reply to Two's comment, her voice cool but a little smile on her face. She simply nodded when he answered her question ( ... )

"Duchess," he said, turning for a moment to eye Aeris long enough to elaborate "the dogmonster in our bathroom" before looking back to the hall. He looked faintly amused at the poor little malevolent wall's attempts to grab Two, but after several seconds the novelty wore off and he shot it until it retreated.
"After you," he said almost cheerfully with a little hand gesture.
