"That son of a bitch." Zelman muttered darkly to himself as ran up the hallways and jumped his way up the stairs, clearing them in seconds. It was obvious he was running right into a trap. The open journal, the easily disclosed location--Kagami had probably been planning this whole thing from the start. But honestly? Zelman didn't really care at this point.

Kagami'd always had it out for them. Zelman, mostly. Maybe he was just fun to piss off. Well, Kagami had certainly seen to that, hadn't he? But what infuriated Zelman most was that the Observer could have done anything to him. He could have taunted him, threatened him, even tried to kill him, and Zelman's interest would have been fleeting or he wouldn't have cared. But the second he touched Watanuki--His territory, his prey, all that was rightfully his and the only thing he'd really give a damn about protecting in the entire castle--he'd crossed the line ( ... )

Kagami smiled and withdrew the shard of glass from its place near Watanuki's eyes, but remained where he was standing. Really, Zelman was almost as bad as Midou when he was pissed. No manners at all.

"Good afternoon, Zelman Clock."

Obviously, the Old Blood had gotten his price back, but what that entailed was what had Kagami's interest (along with plenty of other finer points, but none of them needed a battle in order to observe). After taking a moment to assess the situation -because who would've thought that one could even cause such a violent reaction from Zelman?- Kagami took a small bow.

"Well then," taking a standing position and placing his hands back in his pockets, "Shall we start?"

And there he went with the manners. It was a bit ironic, the "shall we start" line, when in Zelman's mind it was about to be finished, not started. Without waiting for any further invitation, he formed a fireball in front of his face and shot it in Kagami's direction. It rocketed through the air like a bullet, shattering Kagami's image instantly with only the slightest reaction from the target.

He hadn't really expected Kagami to be a sitting target after all--the man was much too clever for that--but he'd been hoping.

A split-second later, Zelman whipped his fist back behind him without so much as a glance in that direction, shattering a second illusion that had come up behind him. It would have been a lethal hit, given his strength, if only it had been real. The Old Blood snarled menacingly and looked around as the cuts on his hand healed almost instantly.

He took some steps towards Watanuki, turning about all the while, trying to get his eyes on the real target. He figured he had to be hiding around there somewhere ( ... )

Kagami's smile never left his face. Zelman was just as good as Akabane. Perhaps he might just die again here. But then where would the fun in that be? He's already experienced death.

But the chances of his Diamond Dust working effectively was not likely. Regeneration and all that other benefits that the other people he's observed didn't have. Hmm, this was quickly becoming dangerous for him. But nothing ventured, nothing gained after all.

Quickly throwing several shards of glass in Zelman's direction, Kagami moved from his original location near the War Room entrance to another one.

No need to have Zelman figure out where he was just yet.

Zelman's eyes were the only thing to move. They looked towards where the glass had been shot from, glowing a deadly red color. He stopped the shards in front of him as easily as he would have stopped a bullet. They hung in mid-air for a moment as he assessed that Kagami wouldn't have stayed in one place anyway. Much, much too clever for that.

Zelman let down he telekinetic shield and the glass clattered uselessly to the ground, shattering into smaller pieces at his feet. This was getting him nowhere. His hands automatically settled in his pockets like they usually did when they had nowhere to be. He needed to find the real Kagami or else they could be playing hide-and-seek all day. And he needed to get Watanuki out of here...

"All this is becoming tiring, Kagami." Zelman took a few more steps back towards Watanuki, trying to close the gap of space between the two of them. The glass that had fallen seconds before had begun to melt into the tile of the rooftops, reacting to the intense heat that Zelman was giving off.

Standing idly, Kagami watched the pieces melt with mild amusement. Enough heat to melt glass, the power was focused in his eyes, a telekinetic as well as a pyrokinetic, what else?

"I'm going to have to agree with you,"

Moving off his perch near the edge of the roof, Kagami remained in a passive stance.

"I've gotten what I wanted. Thank you for the fun, Scarlet-Eyed Zelman. Now..." -a quick glance at the boy- "Shall we call it a day?"

Zelman spun about to at least face in Kagami's direction. Was this really him, or just another fake...? His first thought was to send a rather large-sized fireball right at his head, just to see. Oh, that would be the end of so many of his problems...

But he was calling forth an end to the game. It wouldn't be a permanent one, but Zelman's personal satisfaction at seeing Kagami dead at his feet wasn't nearly as important as Watanuki was. It would have to do. Fine, he'd play by Kagami's rules for a second. Still, he was ever wary. He expected Kagami would try something. In fact, he was almost counting on it.

"What, giving up already?" was the only real reply he could think to make, a slight smirk edging it's way across his face, making him appear just slightly more deadly.

He was far too used to killer intent directed at him to care anymore. After living in and working on Infinity Fortress with Brain Trust, and later, the Voodoo King, there really wasn't much left for the Observer to, well... Observe.

"No, not quite. You should know me better than that, Scarlet-Eyed Zelman. This isn't giving up, it's a break."

Smiling nonchalantly, Kagami extended both hands in front of him, in the way of a person offering an item to another.

"Which side?"

"...the hell...?" Zelman said, a bit distractedly. Well, that had been rather unexpected. Zelman looked at the two hands and then at Kagami, quite clearly thinking that the man was insane. But hey, he had to be given his hobbies.

"Alright, fine." Zelman didn't know what he was thinking. It wasn't too late. He could just send a couple fire-bullets right into his skull and that would be the end of it. But then again, Kagami'd caught the more dangerous side of his interest...

"...left." He said, unsure of what'd happen next.

The smile never changed. Withdrawing his right hand, Kagami slowly opened the fisted left hand.

"... Diamond Dust..."

And released the finely ground mirror dust into the air. But this was unfair for the boy, and if Watanuki got hurt then he'd end up getting more than an earful from the tenants in the castle.

"Just so you know, Zelman," the dust was beginning to sweep across the rooftop, and Kagami wanted to wait till enough was covered for him to escape behind.

"This Diamond Dust of mine is made with demonic shards... You might want to make sure that Watanuki doesn't touch or breathe in any of it by accident, it'd be unfavorable for both of us as it doesn't discriminate between my enemies and bystanders."

Taking a bow, Kagami quickly created a couple dozen reflections, and quickly took his leave.
