Suboshi was pacing his room. Yui-sama - no, Yui - was on her way here. She'd be here any minute now. Except that it felt like the minutes were just dragging on... Impatiently, he kept glancing at the door, wondering whether he'd just heard a knock on the door or not
( ... )
He looked so young to be a warrior -- that was her first impression; he couldn't have been much older than she was, maybe even younger. She opened her mouth to say something and then closed it again. Calling her that again, he must have called her by it a lot if it had become habit, so she refrained from scolding him this time.
So this was Suboshi.
"It's not too late, is it?" Yui lowered her voice when she spoke and turned her wrist to glance at her watch. "If so, I could come back another time." When she looked at him for a second time she wore a genuine smile and her expression was soft. "I'm probably keeping you from sleeping, aren't I?"
A pause.
"It's strange," she began again, "I just really wanted to meet you."
[OOC: I'm really sorry I've been so slow with tag replies. D:]
Suboshi shook his head, opening the door wider. She was going to come inside, right? "It's not," he insisted at her words, "you can come here anytime you want, Yui." He hadn't been asleep or planning to sleep anytime soon anyway and he didn't think he could have gotten much sleep if he didn't get to see her and his brother soon and see for himself that they were okay - even if they were 'different'.
... He couldn't remember Yui smiling a lot back in his world. But there were a couple of times and he wanted there to be more - Yui should have a lot to smile about, like she was smiling right now.
Suboshi tried not to grin at what she'd just said, a funny hopeful feeling following that. Yui wanted to meet him. Even though she didn't remember anything that had happened. Unless it was because she didn't remember all those things? Or-- Well, it didn't matter. She was here, that was what mattered.
"Maybe you're remembering something?" he wondered out loud.
[OOC; *cry* Now I'M sorry! I've been commenting away to people and never even thought about peeking into logs. .. I had to have Yui tease him. She was so mean before. Dx]Yui, perhaps out of habit of teasing Miaka, paused before entering Suboshi's room and shot him a curious glance. "Ah? We're to your room already?" Then, despite her best effort to hold her indifference, she grinned and stepped right past him to admire the décor his room held. It was strange, she thought to herself, how every room seemed to fit an individual almost perfectly
( ... )
[OOC: No worries! And yay for teasing. XD ♥]... To his room? Suboshi hoped in vain that his face wasn't turning red at that. Maybe he was actually taking it the wrong way, too. But it wasn't helping that Yui was sitting on his bed now. In the meantime, he stayed standing where he was, as if rooted to the spot near the doorway
( ... )
Yui took one look at his expression and couldn't help but laugh. "I was kidding! Are you always so easily embarrassed?" She couldn't quite remember, so it only seemed fitting to ask, despite her amusement. It seemed like getting to know him was going to be easier than she thought.
"I wonder," she began but drifted off for a second or two. "Maybe it isn't memories this place takes, but something special? I've talked with a few people who lost items instead of memories. You aren't missing an item, are you?"
Then, as if she had just noticed it, she shot him a curious glance.
"Suboshi. You aren't afraid of me, are you? I'm not going to bite you, so you don't have to stand on the other side of the room." Yui scooted over a little and patted the seat next to her.
Suboshi shook his head. "I'm not!" he protested, feeling even more embarrassed that Yui had noticed after all. But he could tell that she was just teasing him and it was better than nothing, right? He'd tried to make conversation with her whenever he could before, too, but it hadn't always gone so well. Maybe things were going to be different in a good way here. If that was the case, then he could give it a chance, instead of resenting the fact that they'd ended up in this world
