[WHAT IS THIS GNOME SHIT? Alleria is looking around with her hands on her hips, a very sour expression on her face. This is all dumb, so dumb! Tehcnology!! Pah!]

Who would put this here and then abandon it?

What's it supposed to be anyway?

An underground tunnel system, I think. The gnomes in Azeroth were building something like this, if I recall correctly.

[SQUINT SQUINT SQUINT SHE DOES NOT APPROVE] And I can see it's living up to my expectations.

SERVICE AREA paradisamods November 16 2011, 22:19:13 UTC
It's just as dark here as it was everywhere else, but the close quarters at least make it easier to illuminate everything. It's pretty standard as far as service areas go.

There's an employee locker, complete with employees' jackets hanging on hooks, work boots, tool kits, all sorts of things. Someone's half-eaten lunch is laid out on a bench, and the owner -- a skeleton, yuck -- is sitting next to it, perfectly frozen in place, a petrified lunch-meat sandwich half-way to its flopping jaw.

There's an office, and a poorly kept one at that. The walls are lined with book cases loaded with boxes of disorganized paperwork, all in the same unintelligible language that had been carved into the tomb's front door. The desk is strewn with it, too. Another skeleton occupies the room, sitting behind the desk with its head in its hands, in a gesture of bleak frustration.

There's an "engine room", too, full of boxes of scrap metal and computer chips.

[Zelos was exploring the area when he comes across the skeleton, freezing except to quickly cover his mouth. He takes a few steps back and calls out]

Hey guys! I don't think this place got abandoned!

[Five runs up behind him, nearly bashing into him, but stops just in time. he's unfazed by the skeleton ... in fact, he wanders up to it and takes a pencil out of his pocket, using it to prod the remains of the sandwich]

Poor soul didn't die of starvation, whoever he was ... I wonder what happened, here?

[He's staring at the skeleton too. And watching Five too...to make sure he doesn't disrespect whoever this guy was. ]

Whatever it was, it had to be fast.

DOWN THE TUNNEL paradisamods November 16 2011, 22:19:30 UTC
Climbing down in front of the train and onto the tracks will put you in the mouth of the tunnel. There doesn't seem to be anything blocking the way, that they can see, anyway, but there is a deep, heavy breathing noise reverberating down the tunnel. There are puddles on the ground, but the liquid is thick and viscous. It's more like saliva than water. Do you want to tread closer...?

[Leave it to a Windrunner to be the one that dares venture down into the tunnel. She leaps down, landing lightly on her feet--though one foot does get caught in a rather large puddle. She wrinkles her nose before reaching down to take a bit of the liquid between her fingers.]

Strange...

[NO VEREESA DON'T TOUCH THAT SHIT

Alleria is up on the ledge above, crouching as she peers down.]

What is it?

[EVERYONE ELSE WAS TOO MUCH OF A PANSY. But Vereesa's wishing she hadn't. Her good boots...]

I cannot say. Whatever it is, I do not advise touching it. [Brb sis, trying to yank her foot free from the goo]

[Five's hauled a good amount of tools and parts over to the car from the service area... and the panel's open. now it's just a matter of putting the puzzle together.

anyone care to come and help?]

Do you know what you're doing?

Me! [he looks up and smiles, broadly] As a matter of fact, I do. Thank you for asking.

[he picks up one of the circuit boards and blows the dust off it]
