Lente's Point Expedition - Day 2

[Dawn breaks on the second day of the expedition as the party sleepily gathers up their belongings and begins the trek uphill again.

Things are rather uneventful the first few hours - the same trees, the same fruit, the same animals - though there is a small group of those strange blue horses following the group several paces off. They still don't

THE WALLS

[Faced with the high walls of Lente's fort, it is difficult to decide what to do. Getting inside will not be easy.

What to do?]

[Try to climb them of course! What?! She's an agile kid with energy to burn.]

[Try perhaps being the operative word. The trees are almost completely straight with nothing to hold onto except perhaps the rough bark and the very slight grooves between the trunks]

[And try she will! She tries to wedge her small fingers and toes into the grooves to give herself enough leverage]

THE GATE

[Nearly as tall as the walls around it, the gate makes an imposing barrier. Getting through it seems a daunting task, but there are some encouraging signs to be found.

Might those be footprints in the dirt?]

[Eleven saunters up to the gate, hands in his pockets. He looks up and whistles lowly]

An impressive structure to say the least.

[Felix walks up next to him]

It certainly is.

It does make one wonder, however, what is so important to require such a fortress.

THE LAKE

[Tired of standing around while everyone scratches their head? Just over the rise and down the slope, a large lake glitters in the sunlight. It's only a minutes walk down there.

Who knows what might be found?]

[Given that she's just there to explore, not to try to break into seemingly impenetrable fortresses Phoebe wanders off to see what's down the slope. When she sees the lake she pauses, admiring the gorgeous view]

HELLO I AM BACKTAGGING IF THAT'S OK

[Aradia has noticed the lake and come down to take a look, since there's not much she can do toward opening the gate and she'd like to check for signs of civilization down here too. She comes up next to Phoebe and pauses also, shading her nocturnal eyes from the bright sun.]

It's pretty nice, isn't it?

[She glances over at the troll, not flinching or reacting at all to the horns. Instead she just smiles and nods]

Yeah. Who knew something like this would be out here?
