It seems as if I came back to the castle just in time. A day later, and this downpour would have caught me out in the thick of the forest.
[muttered] I simply hope the hut survives this continuous storm.
It was refreshing, to get away from the castle and environs for a while, but being back is nice as well.

I am glad you were not caught out in the storm, as well. Though castles are only occasionally places of mirth and merriment, a deluge is never a pleasant thing to endure, and therefore this would clearly be the better of two environs.
My gratitude, once more, for helping me find my way to my room and being so cordial and accommodating upon my arrival. If your hut is damaged in the storm, I am more than willing to help you repair it, by way of conveying my thanks. I have had some experience in thatching roofs and the like during my travels, and though my skills may not be quite on par with - a phrase here meaning "as exemplary as" - your own, there is a saying where I am from: "Many hands make light work". While I do not have many hands - simply two, four hands may make shorter work of a damaged hut than two.
With all due respect,

Thank you for the kind words, and for the very generous offer. I hope that the cottage is sturdy enough wot withstand these rains, but if not, I would gladly accept your hands and your experience if you are willing to give them.
Thank you again.

Well, it's not exactly remote... it's more my home than the castle.
