[there's the sound of a balloon squeaking on Ellie's side of the journal. it's weird and it's faint, but if you've heard a balloon before, there's no mistaking what kind of sound it is.]

[and you know the sound a balloon makes when it's being batted around by a kid pawing at it? yeah, it's starting to make that noise

What do you mean, you're in the sky? Are you on the roof?

I explored the roof once. Everyone who goes there always looks like they're in a bad mood, and I feel sorry for them, but... no! [giggle] I'm floating through the air!

[oh yes. if someone with expert vision were to look, the balloon seems to have tied its string around her waist and is dangling her as she floats aimlessly. also, it is blue. :3 and there are no dangers of dropping ;;]

[good thing he has godmode vision and can... zoom in with his eyes and stuff. Once Clark's seen this, he's up from his window and opening it, and climbing out of it.

He really doesn't like flying, but he needs to check in that the little girl is fine, anyway. He floats up in front of her.]

[there's a pause. wait. this guy had no balloon to speak of! and he's up here with her? WHAT.]

Um, [a giggle] I'm up... in the sky, mister doctor sir! The castle sure does have a nice view!

In the sky?! My goodness! ... I'm sure it's a very lovely view indeed. I don't think I'd enjoy being up in it, very much, myself ... I seem to have developed a fear of heights since I got here.

But I'm glad you're enjoying yourself! May I ask how you got all the way up there?

[There's a small gargoyle hovering above her, ready to dive down and grab her if the balloon breaks.]

[she's not noticing you just yet there, mister gargoyle. she's trying to scribble down a map of the path leading from the castle to the duck pond! she is quite the cartographer for her age!]

[Whoa, that's pretty impressive for a little girl! Fortunately, it looks like she's pretty firmly attached to the balloon.

Lexington swoops down a little closer.]

but... it looks neat! kind of like a creature from a story book! and since he isn't blowing fire at her or trying to pop her balloon, she looks at him, completely intrigued!]
