[was looking at the ground suspiciously when she hears his voice. it sounds familiar! And she looks up and smiles]

[laughs, flips her ponytail over her shoulder] I'm Ino. You are ... ?

Not exactly. I mean, I could hold my own, but I can't pull any fancy moves like that.

Oh, yeah, we talked through the journals. I'm Kyle.

[yamanaka]

Well. Glad to impress, then~ It's not so hard to learn to do a flip, though.

[shifts to hold out his hand for a handshake, but he ends up dropping some papers from his sketchbook as he does so; they're female nudes] ...

I'm sure I could teach you how.

[and she's about to reach her own hand out - glances down

Uh, um! [bends over, tries to gather them while balancing out the rest of his sketches] I'm an artist-- these are completely tasteful. I'm studying female anatomy.

[yamanaka]

[sadly this excuse works, because she knows Sai] Oh, is that right? I have another friend who's an artist.

[imaginates]

[it is true though D:] They're not hard to come by.

Sorry. [puts the papers into his lap and tries to straighten them out] I'm usually not this lame in front of girls, I swear.

[yamanaka]

[suuure .. jk, jk] He might be a bit of a different type of artist than you've met, though.

[grins, and holds out her hand again for .. hopefully a proper handshake this time] Hey, it's not that big of a deal.

[imaginates]

One that doesn't draw nudes?

[he takes her hand, shaking it] I kind of ruined the moment, though. Doing a handshake right now seems out of place.

[yamanaka]

You didn't ruin anything, don't worry. [takes her hand away after she shakes his, puts it on her hip] So, are you here for the food, or what?

[crosses his arms] That, and the mingling. It's tough being the new guy.

Oh, really? That's neat. [was about to say "You two should meet" but Sai tends to anger ... everyone]
