One of the perks of living in this place is definitely just how much information you can dig up in the library. Sure, it may not have a great search function or anything, but after a few hours of digging you can find a lot of things.
I've been curious just how much my earth is different than other earths, or how they're the same. It's kind of exciting to think that somewhere out there, another version of Earth has managed to accomplish something like curing cancer or achieve world peace, or something along those lines. It certainly makes it possible for the rest of them.
