the second sacrifice

[After Lucy's kidnapping from her friends, courtesy of Zexion:

She's been dragged down to the Marker room in the basement, doing her best to fight all the way, but her captor seems to be untouchable, imperturbable. He also seems to be taking care not to hurt her. She can take a vague stab at what might be in store for her, judging by what was audible yesterday when someone appeared to have been torn apart to the sound of chanting, and it makes her mouth taste like bile.

By the time she's been brought into the Marker room and stripped down to her underwear by the worshipers, Lucy is utterly terrified. She's not afraid of dying, not here; she's already walked that path twice before. No, she's only afraid of what will come before the dying. It doesn't look nice. It doesn't look nice at all.

The journals pick up the sound of someone being thrown into a metal cage, and a woosh of air being expelled from that person's lungs. Lucy climbs unsteadily to her feet; she's shaking so badly she can barely stay upright. The other occupant of the cage is an abomination she might have been curious about in other, safer circumstances. If she weren't so obviously meant for it to kill.

In the background, the chanting starts: "Cleanse the sin... become one with God... erase the heretics... the coming is upon us... embrace evolution... embrace God..."

The journals record Lucy breathing heavily. It can't record the tears streaming down her face.

What follows is a strangely quiet aural scene of carnage. There is the creature, moving and tearing and slicing; the chanters in the background; and Lucy gasping and gargling until there's nothing left but dripping blood and the slap of meat on the ground]
