[Scampering noises are being recorded as RedSquirrel!Emil climbs up his desk. Some chitters and he begins to rub his face, scratch behind the ears, and smooth out his tail. As always, his voice-now high-pitched-is being recorded by the journal nearby.]

I wonder how long do temporary losses usually last...

...I guess. I mean, personally I agree with you. Nothing bad's happened to me yet. [He doesn't consider being turned into a squirrel a bad thing.]

But for half of the other residents...reflecting over their history and the losses...
It's sad sometimes.

The loss of a memory must be difficult, it's like taking that event or person right out of your life. Like a piece of a jigsaw going missing. You can't complete the picture without it.

Yeah...I don't know my permanent loss though, but I've heard that some of the older residents still haven't figured out their loss yet. If mine is a memory though...I feel completely normal. Nothing feels like it's missing.

The temporary losses can also hurt you. Physically or mentally.
