----Private-----
I have many opportunities to escape them, and could exploit them at any second. They're monitoring my use of the journal, but that means nothing... even if they took it away, there are several others in the house and I could probably get my hands on another. If I make a call for help to an ally, they can take it away, but, well... it would already be said, wouldn't it? Help would be on the way.
Not that I want help -- no, there's an excellent reason to stay here, and as far as I'm concerned, all reasons to leave can be rectified with a bit of time and careful acting. Mother can be dealt with.
I have the journal to "maintain appearances" with, so that the elusive "they" don't realise I'm missing.
Ugh, I am hungry.

-----Katara and Sokka-----
So. Being an exceptionally observant person (which I am sure you both already know) I have noticed things about both of you that strike me as surprising. I have to ask: why would two peasants, at this age, be trusted with escorting the Avatar -- the beacon of hope for the world, the last airbender, the naive and confused child from a hundred years previous -- alone? Obviously they didn't care much for the fate of the Avatar, if they were only going to send you two.
Katara, you're rather pathetic. Capable at times, even I must admit, but you need better training. As it is, you wouldn't last long in any meaningful fight. Look at how things turned out for you in Ba Sing Se.
You're rather pathetic too, Sokka. You've never shown real talent in combat, at least in my experience. Don't they usually assign competent people to the protection of important figures? Somehow, I doubt your father's been involved in your upbringing, and if he was, he's a complete fool. He didn't even teach you how to get information out of someone, even when you're armed and they're defenseless. Isn't the Water tribe supposed to be full of capable warriors, passing down the spear from father to son, and all of that old-fashioned nonsense?
Ah, Water tribe logic at its finest. You barbarians never get anything right, but I suppose I shouldn't expect better, from a crumbling nation. Oh well!

-----Suki-----
I notice you've arrived and have failed to come greet me. Don't be so rude, I want to hear all about how your stay in the Boiling Rock is going. I do care, you know. You are my favourite prisoner. Most aren't so... fiesty.
----------
-----Zuko-----
You're a horrible host.
----------
-----Jet-----
Go get me some history books from the library. Do not start any revolutions on the way and come directly back. Understood?
----------
-----Greed----
I'm bored and bedridden. Talk about something.
----------
-----Master-----
I find myself in a predicament that I may exit at almost any time, whenever I please. Until I am prepared to do so, I need... ammunition. What do you know about sedative drugs?
(Also, Mai went home some weeks ago, so there is no need for fencing lessons. My apologies for not mentioning it earlier; as I mentioned, I'm in a predicament.)
----------
-----Doctor-----
I'm bored. Question my morals/motives and make inaccurate and pointless accusations against my sanity so that I have something to laugh at.
----------
-----Travis-----
This girl you slept with and cannot remember. Who was she?
No particular reason, I'm just curious.
----------
-----Kal-El-----
[casual tone, but there's a mischievous lilt hidden there]
Would you believe they're letting me keep my journal, to keep up "appearances"? Apparently, they're worried someone will notice my absence and go looking for me... but what do they know? I don't want to be found, yet, but if you don't hear from me for more than forty-eight hours, find me.
Living in town yet?
----------
-----Toph-----
Go paint me a masterpie-- oh, that's right. You're blind! I'll ask someone without a handicap.
----------
-----Yue-----
Hello. I don't believe we've ever really met. As the only two princesses of our world, for the sake of foreign relations, we ought to have met over tea months ago.
----------
-----Avatar-----
Are you afraid of me? Poor thing.
----------
-----Jan-----
Still a penguin?
----------
----Ty Lee-----
Ty Lee, I'm at Zuko's house, and they make terrible hosts. As a result, I am going to starve. Do you think you could fetch me dinner --- my favourite --- and sneak it in through a window? I'm in an upstairs bedroom... and it'd be best if you weren't seen.
[pause]
I rather miss spending time with you, but, unfortunately, that cannot be helped right now. No one is supposed to know where I am or why, but if we're careful, we can talk through the journals.
----------
----Public-----
If we've never spoken, introduce yourself.
