Apparently, this castle really can't get enough of making my life hell.

I feel like I'm missing some time, but that may be for the best.  No signs of the alcohol needed to make that happen though, so I'm assuming the castle did it.

And yes, I'm still here,

Something that's on my mind... [amused] Well, as a note, I can say and be completely honest that York isn't bad in bed by any means thanks to that incident.

Also, as unhappy as it makes York, I'm not unhappy to see the last of Texas.

[...wait what. How would he know if York--- Yeah, you know what? Carolina's not going to read into that one. Even if she's more than a little peeved by it. That's two teammates York had slept with.]

Fair enough. [Sitting down in the nearest chair, watching him through her visor.]

[Oh, he didn't miss that.] Carolina, he did it because he counted the number of tequila bottles in his trash when the castle pulled one of its tricks. I woke up in my room, turned into a version of the inside of my head. It was bad enough I had to stay in York's room, because I couldn't stay in that hell with what Epsilon left behind. And without the alcohol, I wasn't sleeping.

[That gets another drink. One that would probably account for more than a shot.] He did it to help me. Don't blame him. Texas did enough of that from the injuries he sported after she found out.

[Carolina bristles a little at the assumption that she's bothered by York having slept with someone else. She must be getting sloppy if it's that obvious. Still, she listens to everything Wash says because hell if she'll ever get a chance like this again.]

That's-- [Nope. She has to stop that judgmental statement right there. No matter how unhealthy that practice is.] When was the last time you slept without the assistance of alcohol?

[smirks] I've had a lot of time to learn to read people, Carolina.

And I know it's not healthy. [He pauses.] I hadn't had anything to set it off in a while. And I'd had for a while, another way to handle it. Until she was turned into a cat, and now the castle got rid of her.

You don't know how much you're dependent on a person, until they're not there.

[Ffff. That doesn't really comfort Carolina, but hey it just means she'll need to firm up her defenses. She nods at Wash's words.]

How long had she been here?

Little over a year. We fought at first, but the castle kept throwing us together until we came to an understanding.

Castle likes to do that, I've heard.

But once we got that understanding...

Doesn't matter anymore though. She's gone. Even if I see her again here, she won't know me.

[Another drink] Starting to see why York takes people leaving like he does.

[A long, long pause from her. That'd be hard to take, she could understand that partially.]

She won't remember anything of being here?

Nothing. I'll be a complete stranger. Place gave me something to remember her by at least.
