[Nora hasn't heard from Sakura since she last saw her as that little black cat earlier this month. Worried about her friend, she heads to her room to check on her. Wait... That's not... She looks around to make sure she's got the right room. No... this is the right room, there's just something missing from it. She stares at the door for a moment ( Read more... )

Yeah... it was.

I guess that's part of the nature of this place, though, right? It gives us good things, only to take them away or mess them up, somehow... or it just throws a ton of shit our way just to see how we deal with it.

Ah, please don't get so disheartened. There are many good things about this world, don't let the bad ones overshadow them.

That's where we are, back home. We were arrested because we were trying to protect our right to free speech. The FCC was trying to shut down Mark's radio show because they didn't like what he was saying.

That's terrible! I thought you were American... you sound American?

[He was vaguely aware that this country was supposedly famed for free speech.]

We are. That's exactly why we fought back. The school hated Mark saying that we didn't have to be dicked around by our parents and the principal. They didn't like that he was telling us that it's okay to be who we want to be, that we shouldn't be punished or pushed around for shit like being gay or pregnant or just not being good enough or smart enough for their standards.

He was inspiring everyone to rise up and fight to be ourselves and to to not be afraid to speak our minds, no matter what it is.

That sounds an admirable reason for fighting, my dear, and you should both be proud of yourselves. I wish you luck in your endeavours when you return home.

[Wow. Coming from him that means a lot. She smiles]

Thank you. We are. I mean, it's the most important thing I've ever done... it's really the only important thing I've ever done.

Don't worry, we won't let them change us, no matter how much they're trying to.
