[You can all blame Hunny for this.]

This might be a stupid question, but... is it possible for a guy who came from a world without magic, to learn magic here?

[You can bet she is stalking this hardcore. Forever dubiously curious about this whole magic busienss.]

[But she does have one question to add to that. Written] ARE YOU TALKING STRICTLY MEN, OR MEN AND WOMEN? [The research she'd done on the subject in some cases had gender be an issue. Of course, in all cases magic users had to be born with it, but if this guy could find someone willing to teach ... ]

Well, for guys, cause... I'm a guy... but women are fine too. It'd be good if everyone could learn about it.

IT WOULD BE GOOD. I'LL BE CURIOUS TO SEE WHAT YOU'RE ABLE TO FIND OUT.

It is possible in some cases, I believe. I have learned a few techniques here I would not have available otherwise. However, it probably depends on the person, and how magic works in their world.

[Blinks at the text, but responds anyway.]

So there's still a chance?

Yes. Unfortunately, the people who taught me the techniques I picked up have since gone home, but it's worth your time to ask around.

Hm... yeah, I won't give up so easily.

Something I wouldn't mind knowing, myself.

...though, huh. Guess you wouldn't really need to 'learn' how to use it if the tools you were using were magic to begin with, would you?

Well, that's just a guess, anyway. I wouldn't know... I'm in the same boat as you.

I'm getting a lot of no's so far, but figured it was better than not doing anything.

Oh, shoot. Yeah...

[He sighs and rubs the back of his neck.]

Man, what the hell are we supposed to do...

I don't know, but I'm going to keep trying until I hear from every single magic user. I don't care if I get a million nos, that doesn't mean there's not a yes out there. There's a ton of crazy powered people here.

... If it is your intention to learn more of the castle, I am not certain the magic I understand would be of aid.

However, this magic that I understand is also a matter of study rather than inborn talent. With an particular kind of object, study, any can learn. [ A pause. ] ... At least... any of Terca Lumireis.

I'll take anything I can get, at this rate.

I... see. [ A moment of thoughtful silence. ]

... As I had said, a matter of study. If you are interested or feel that you can make such an attempt... I still hold the books for beginner level spells.

... I've got nothing better to do. A little reading wouldn't kill me.

It might be possible, Kasanoda. I do not know if the Castle grants powers though.

No, but... Felix suggested learning how to sword fight.

Oh, that is easy enough. I can teach you, if you like.
