[Yuan sounds strangely pensive tonight.]

It's strange...when I think back to when I got here. It isn't just me that's changed, these four years. Some few of you may remember a time when the forest around the castle was impenetrable. Anyone who tried to go too far became turned around and emerged back at the castle, or if they were determined enough

I remember I didn't go on the first expedition...

The amount of stuff we just don't know has definitely been expanded.

In the end, being there didn't yield much more information than was brought back and immediately spread over the journals anyway.

I suppose it's worthwhile to know where the gaps are, at least. Or some of them - I'm sure there's more yet that we don't even know we're ignorant of.

It's funny how exploring works, isn't it?

It's the same with any pursuit of knowledge, I suppose. But the only thing to do is keep going forward blindly, and hope we don't trip over something that gets all of us killed.
