[As Brennan stares at the open journal on the desk in her room, a tear falls first on the page. It ought to be her responsibility to say something. But they're words she does not want to write. So, it's a good minute or so after that, after Brennan struggles to get her emotions on control, that she actually places pen to paper ( Read more... )

I'm sorry to hear that. [ she wants to ask how she's doing but with how little she knows her it feels a little odd ]

If you are up to it there is something that I think he'd like you to have known.

I do not know who you are.

You knew Booth?

My name is Helen Magnus.

Only briefly. We spoke regarding a condition that he was aware of, one that I believe you were concerned of?

You're the doctor that examined him in regards to the potential tumor.

Was I correct?

That's correct, yes. Did Agent Booth discuss anything further with you in regards to that?

No.

Do you have results?

I do. Would you prefer to discuss them in person?

Through the journal is adequate.

With Booth no longer here, they are ultimately of little consequence.

Perhaps but he did care for you, knowing may not change the situation but it could alleviate some worries as to his condition whilst here. [ And if he ever returned ]

The tumour that you know of was present. Agent Booth mentioned having a hallucination, and although other factors could have had a hand in it the presence and location of the tumour would show that it was the cause of his hallucination. Despite that there is something good - his condition wasn't worsening. Through some means the castle prevents any illnesses that we may have before our arrival here from worsening during our stay.

[It is all something of a relief. Even if Helen's mention of Booth caring for her threatens tears all over again. It makes her uncomfortable, needing a few more moments before she can respond.]

That... is a relief. Since he has returned home, it is only a matter of time before he has the operation to remove the tumor.

May I ask as to how it turns out, if you know of that.

The operation was a success, but he reacted poorly to the anesthesia. When he awoke from the coma, he suffered from mild disorientation.

It was something he recovered from quickly enough.

Then perhaps that could be one less worry for you, knowing that he will be well soon enough?

It is.

[But it doesn't change the fact that he is gone.]

I'm glad for that, then.

If you ever need to talk, I'm here.
