TARDIS FILTER:

Doctor? Preferably the bow tie Doctor - I have a favor to ask of you. Well, I suppose it's not really a favor so much as a request. Get back to me as soon as you can.

POND FILTER:

Amy? Rory? I feel like we should all gather together and have a little picnic. Just the three of us - the Ponds. I know things have been awkward lately, but ( Read more... )

That sounds lovely. Do you have any preference as to when or where?

Not particularly. My place or yours? I promise no games of hide and seek this time.

[ Oh River ] Yours, I have a feeling it may be quieter.

Alright. Would you prefer my room in the castle or my room inside the TARDIS?

The castle. How's twenty minutes, if you're free?

Sure. I'll put the kettle on.

[And get out some vodka]

I'll see you shortly, then. [ ... she'll need a lot of vodka. That darned vampire blood

It was twenty minutes (give or take a couple) before Helen knocked on River's door. She looked better - the cure had worked, she'd slept and had relaxed a little... or may after this talk. And she felt better - that air about her had returned ]

[River had the tea ready and was just pouring in some a lot of vodka. It takes quite a bit to get her tipsy too. She answers the door when she hears a knock, motioning for Helen to come in]

Everything is ready. And my, is that some pink to your cheeks at long last?

[She's noticed, naturally. Also, the Doctor had told her the cure had been ready when she'd last spoken to him]

Your Doctor's had quite the treatment. [ She'd had yet to properly thank them but was getting to it

As she steps in Helen gives a brief curious look around the room - the last time she'd seen it it had looked rather different, plus she still had yet to work on her room ]

[This room had very little in the way of decorations outside of a few maps of the castle laying out of which she'd altered to note the changes to the castle, some books from the library. Very simple and uncluttered. The theme to the room seemed to be blue. TARDIS blue. Blue walls and a blue ceiling. Really, she spent more time in her room within the TARDIS]

That's my Doctor. Always comes through in a pinch, that mad impossible man.

[She says it with such fondness. Like an old married wife.

Gesturing towards a table where two cups of tea are sitting out, she takes a seat]

Hope you don't mind. The tea's going to have a bit of a kick to it.

[ Which Helen could only give a small smile at. She was a little fond of him herself, both of them, although certainly a different sort of fondness ]

I'm still working up an appropriate way of thanking him. [ She'd never been in this situation before

Taking a seat by River Helen gives a curious glance to the cup ] An alien blend? [ One could naively hope ]

Oolong tea with a touch of vodka.

[She takes a sip. It's fruity and sweet, the perfect blend to cover up the tang of alcohol]

That's the thing about him. The Doctor could save the entire universe, and believe me he has on many an occasion, and he never expects anything in return. Very few ever stop to thank him.

[ Vodka. She should have expected that, really. Trusting her, and herself - it would take a lot of this tea to do much... possibly.

She took a sip, impressed by how well it did cover up the taste of it, that and it was a nice tea - she may have to have it herself (without the vodka) ] It's a shame. With what he does you would hope that someone would.

No one ever really knows. Except for his chosen companion for that period of time.

[Vodka is a girl's best friend, after all]

Are you feeling back to your old self already?

And during your travels with him?

[ Some girls just need nudging to it ]

More so than James would admit. Thankfully the lack of deterioration of my health helped somewhat with that.

Oh yes, definitely. The bow tie Doctor, I know so very well. The younger, blonde one, not so much.

[She takes another sip and finds the blending of flavors to be quite satisfying]

I'm glad. Maybe James will pester you a bit less now. He seems like quite the mother hen.
