[Zelman doesn't usually go near this place unless he's going to visit with Pharos. if he must have his spirits forcibly lifted, he would prefer to visit the pillar maze with Asuka (which hasn't happened in a very long time). the giant tree that gives off feelings of comfort and acceptance really has a way of making him uncomfortable.

but with Alexstrasza gone, well, he was curious. he wanted to see if the tree was still there. so sure enough, he comes wandering along eventually... either he doesn't notice or pretends not to notice Rin there as he meanders somewhat distractedly through the field towards the trunk.]

[Rin is not going to make herself known to Zelman. For now, in fact, she's not even cognizant exactly of his approach.

Tad sits up as the vampire comes closer, though, broad ears swiveling forward as he pays Zelman more attention. It's not totally unheard of to find Tad without Rin, as she often lets him out to run on his own, but of course Zelman's senses extend further than a normal human's...]

[yeah, it doesn't take long for him to figure it out. but he pretends not to notice this time around, instead directing his attention towards Tad. he stops a respectable distance away from him, keeping his hands in his pockets and looking pretty far from confrontational. this place sucks it out of him.]

[Rin looks down at Zelman when he speaks, still concealed in the leaves and branches.

Tad obviously can't speak back to Zelman, but his ears remain forward. He's not hostile, but he's alert, panting quietly and allowing his tongue to loll out. It is not an... unfriendly expression.]
