[Since things have calmed down a bit, Galadriel has had a chance to think about things that have been in the back of her mind for quite some time. The text that appears on the page is an old fashioned script, elegant, crisp, and clean.]

Before I was taken from my home, I heard a very shrewd man speak of truth in legend. "Old wives oft hold in memory that which was once needful for the wise to know," he said. And even that which exists only in lore in one world is truth in another. This place has taught me that much.

[Katara stumbles over the phrasing a little, but she considers Galadriel's words.]
That's a wise thing to say, and a wiser thing to keep in mind. But - yeah. I'm just a human girl.

There is little "just" or "only" about any of your kind. Your fires burn brief but bright. Very brightly indeed for the best of you.

My point precisely. Already I have had my expectations challenged many times. Creatures I would have assumed foes in my own world have proven to be valuable allies. Elves have told me of their mortality. I have heard of worlds populated only by the race of Man.
All of us have notions of what is, in one manner or another. What I wonder is if, at the core, there is a single truth or many. May we say "elves are this?" Or must we say only "elves may be this or that?"

Yes as has my own, though I do think I had a slightly easier time of, accepting things over others here. And I too have heard of other worlds only populated by humans, which seems odd compared to my own.
Yes we do, either from myth or experience we do. At the core, possibly there may be some, single truth or definition but there will always be an exception to it, worlds are different, races evolve, so truly I do no think there is one definition for all the variations of a race, not in a world such as this.

Now you're starting to sound like Merrill. You'll want us to start frolicking next.
...What are faries?

Would it please you? You might look passing fair with a crown of flowers.
As best I may tell, they are small beings who are want to cause many difficulties unless appeased by some charm or offerings, usually through the use of magic. [Because she knows you'll love that part.]

[Well, that's just the BEST part] Not even the Dalish think up such foolish stories. They have their Old Gods, but no magical creatures of mischief. [He's pretty sure Merrill would have told him about it if they had]

Who are the Dalish, if I may ask?

I knew there was a reason I liked talking with you.

It has been some time. How have you fared since last we spoke?

About as well as can be expected.

In this place, that alone may be a small blessing.

What about 'Shadows'?

But I suspect you ask of something of which I know very little, if any at all.
[Is it as much fun to laugh if they admit ignorance?]
