[The door to Katara's room is hanging wide open, revealing what rather resembles a small Inuit village. There are tents thrown up, and people mill around in thick parkas and gloves, interacting amicably with each other in vague, mumbled tones that one would have to strain to here ( Read more... )

[Cloud had knocked but it was difficult to get a response from anyone today. He supposed the rooms changing like this was upsetting a few people. Even so, he felt the need to check on Katara.

Venturing in quietly, he's surprised by all the snow but carefully walks through the small village, not trying to disturb anything.]

Katara? Are you... alright?

[Katara jumps slightly at the sound of Cloud's voice, her flat expression twitching into something a little sheepish. The villagers don't seem perturbed by his entrance; actually, they don't seem to notice him at all.]

Cloud! I'm fine. This is just - really weird.

Yeah... my room is doing something weird too but it's not staying fixed into anything so I'm not going in.

[He shakes his head a little, sitting down beside her. Snow definitely doesn't bother Cloud, he loves it.]

Is this... your home?

Yeah. And these are all people I know -- but none of them are real. I don't think they can hear or see me.

[She flexes her hands slightly, still watching them.]

I don't think I realized how much I was worrying about them until now.

[Another room she doesn't know. Another place she doesn't know. Anywhere is better than being trapped in her own mind right now, though, so she'll wander inside. There's something about it that draws her in, anyway.

Maybe it's the snow. It reminds her of somewhere she's been before, that cold, remote satellite no one ever really went to. As she steps inside the door and takes in her surroundings, she can almost hear that song playing in her head.]

[Katara looks up at Julia, seeming slightly startled before smiling gently at her.]

It's nice, isn't it? The snow.

[And Julia is almost equally startled. She hadn't realized that there was someone else here. But she recovers quickly. It's an art that she's mastered.

She looks at the girl, returning something of a small smile before setting her gaze back out in the direction of the village.]

Mm. [Her assent. And then a pause.] It... reminds me of someone.

[It reminds her of someone, too - lots of people, actually. She hefts some snow into her hands, patting it into a soft ball.]

Do you want to sit and -- talk about it?

Wow, neat!

[ that's about the only warning Katara gets before there's a soft thud -- there is now (1) demon lord laying in the snow, trying to make a snow angel. he doesn't exactly know that this is supposed to be someones room, he just knows that snow? so cool. who cares if it's only ankle deep! ]

[She's pulled from her reverie by said demon lord making snow angels -- and she laughs out loud, pressing her hand to her mouth to stifle the sound.]

That looks like a lot of fun.

[ oh, an audience! he tilts his head back to peer over at her, squinting a little since he's seeing her upside-down. nonetheless, he's going to smile. ]

Howdy! Yeah, it is!

[She leans down, picks up some snow, balls it.. and then tosses it gently at him.]
