36 - छत्तीस - Happy Eid

As what happens to us in this place becomes more extreme I've found that I savour the quiet times between them and in that vein I wish to say Eid Mubarak. Firstly to Hesam. I have some jalebi if you'd like it, I may have sneaked a few myself

What's that?

It's a celebration muslim celebrate after they've fasted. A friend of mine, Hesam is celebrating it now.

Why do they fast?

[drugged_chai]

Well, to feel what it's like for those without food and water and to excercise self control and try and improve their behaviour to be better people primarily.

Do you have anything similar?

[payback]

I don't know about that. There are special rituals and meditation things people can do sometimes, but some people care a lot more than others and my family wasn't that into it.

Well there's nos hame in it, in my own family, my mother was always far more religious than either I or my father.

Did you pick it up later? What was the faith?

[drugged_chai]

Hinduism, have you heard of it? And no not really, I was more engrossed in my work to be honest.

I guess I've heard of it... I don't know much about it. Religion is one thing I haven't studied while I've been here.

I imagine even if they did, they wouldn't find out everything.

Hmm, it might be a worthwhile course to take though. Especially with all the supernatural beings we have.

True enough I suppose, although I didn't know there was anyone here claiming to be a deity.

Well we have a demon... and there have been people who amount to gods at least, around here.

Do you worship them?

[payback]

That'd be a bit strange, wouldn't it?

You're the one who referred to them as being like Gods, it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility.
