They're only sweets. No one's forcing them to eat them. If they wanted they could jsut ask for blood from the castle.

I've given up expecting this place to make sense. Half the time it'll get you regardless. You may as well enjoy it whilst you can.

Honestly, I don't think it pays that much attention to what we say.

Then the fact of it simply giving us what we want would be... what? It won't be quite so simple.

Perhaps it just wants to toy with us. LIke an ant under a lens.

Perhaps, but doing so with seemingly altruistic means? It seems more reasonable that for each wish in which is made there is something to be paid for it.

Or it could just be sadistic and likes torturing people so will strike regardless. I don't think it keeps tally. I probably ask the castle for more than most and I wouldn't say that I had been blighted.

You seem to be giving the impression that it's like a tally system, the more you ask, the more you suffer.
