[If you're passing through the lobby today, you may notice something slightly unusual. Or, at the very least, something that looks like one just stumbled onto a crime scene. An unfamiliar (well, at least to most) woman is sprawled out on the floor, completely still. Blonde hair pools around her like blood should in a situation like this, but ( Read more... )

[Walking by, walking by...

Oh. What. Weird. Humans were weird.]

Yeah. That sure is a floor!

[Someone walks by, and it snaps her out of her thoughts. And forgive her, she's just... kind of staring. She's not exactly from the corner of space that has aliens, after all, so this is something she's never seen before.

... What is this place? Is she dreaming? It doesn't feel like she's dreaming....]

[The thing about Vriska was, well, the fact that she wasn't the most considerate of all people... especially when there is clear confusion on the other's part.

Alas.]

Uh, wow. Are you really that amazed by how shiny the floor is? Because I can just leave you to... [Sidestepping.] deal with that.

[How... bizarre. She shakes her head just slightly.]

No. I--

[... Yeah, she doesn't know how to finish that.]

[She doesn't need to be at the castle until that night, but she still was checking on a few things at her room. Given the whole vandalism issue from a month ago - paired with the recent big fight - Jo figured it was safer to just check now than to end up yanked back to her room and be unprepared for the state it was in. On her way back out though, she didn't expect to see that.]

Are you... alright? [She'll approach the woman slowly, because she wasn't really sure what was going on.]

[Julia isn't terribly sure of what's going on herself. The last thing she remembers is a bullet going through her.... and Spike.... and her world going completely black....

.... Which led her here. Wherever here is.

She doesn't know this woman who has just approached her, but on first glance, she doesn't appear threatening. And who knows? She might need help.]

I'm... [Pause]... fine.

[Well, if she's honest, it still hurts like hell, but she's alive, isn't she? Somehow.]

[Jo nods, but still doesn't want to startle her.]

Well, you're probably not sure where you are. It's a common thing when you first show up. Don't worry, we're all this confused to start.

["Show up"? "We"? She's only more confused than ever, but the next question to ask is the only logical one. ... Maybe she'll get a better picture of the details later.]

Where are we?

[Dainn's just getting back from a walk when he spots the woman on the ground. he turns around to shut the door and chooses to adress her over his shoulder. it hid away both his smile and red eyes, so the only possible oddity is the snow-white hair on someone that looks to be in their earily twenties.

or, you know, that he's wearing a black cloak in the middle of summer.]

Do you need any help miss?

[She turns to locate the source of the voice, and when her eyes catch that combination of white hair and black cloak, she's... reminded of someone. Someone she hasn't seen in three years. Someone she'd been running from for three years.

A chill reflexively runs down her spine.

But she makes no outward indication of this. To the untrained eye, she's just as composed as she ever was. Or as much as one could be, sitting on the floor like this.]

I... [She's managed to get herself sitting more steadily by now, at least]... I'm all right.

[the image might be ruined when Dainn turns around, revealing his crimson-colored eyes.]

Are you sure? I can't perdict how people come here, but you look like you arrived suddenly.

[That... honestly just makes the image even creepier. She can't quite get it out. But, for now, she's going to attempt to shove that aside, because there's something in what he said that just makes her all the more curious.]

They don't usually?

[First, there's the shock that those words have appeared in her book. But, even after the initial shock, and she's decided that maybe the thing to do is write back, there's a hesitation before an actual response is written. ... How do you say that? Dead? Gone?]

Somewhere else.

I think most of us do... or all of us, except one called Dream.

This is Paradisa. Welcome.

Thank you.

[She guesses? Seems like the appropriate thing to say, at any rate. At least she has a name for where she is, and that's a start.]

How many of us are there?

[heading through the lobby on her way to the kitchen, she stops and takes a step towards Julia, a slight hint of worry in her expression. After all, she'd sat herself in plenty of odd places before. Being on the floor didn't necessarily mean something was wrong] You okay there?

[It's so strange to see this, almost. Kindness from a stranger. That sort of phenomenon just... didn't exist in her world that often. She'd spent so long being so self-reliant, so distant, so removed from it all that....

For the moment, the only response she gives the other woman is a slight nod.

Funny enough, she actually is okay, apart from maybe a little residual disorientation and slight weakness. Somehow. She'll never understand this; she felt the bullet go in, didn't she?]

[she doesn't necessarily doubt her, but there's something about the way the woman's sitting that makes her want to linger a minute. Just to be sure. She'll come over and perch on the arm of a nearby couch, one hand moving to pick at one of the many specks of paint on her jeans]

I personally recommend the couches, but the floor's not too bad.

[Right. She's still on the floor. There are better places to be, aren't there?

Slowly, and with some effort, she manages to lift herself up long enough to take a seat on that couch. She could figure more of this out later, but, in the meantime, this is better than the floor.]

It seems like you've been here for a while.
