[Koltira has waited for and wanted this moment ever since the Light-forsaken castle stole him away from Andorhal.  The battle today is not like the last attempt; this time Arthas is separated from his pack; this time his demon-woman will not come to rescue him.  This time Koltira will not relent until either he or Arthas lies defeated and broken ( Read more... )

[Line up for your Commanders--Sylvanas and Koltira--here. Make sure you've hit a repair shop and are fully stocked on reagents, potions & food!]

[Can we get a re-buff? Laying down a feast over here...

Just kidding. But Vereesa is here, ready and waiting for her sister's commanding orders.]

ROUT deadelfwalking August 13 2011, 00:15:25 UTC
[Phase I begins! The group's objective is to push Arthas towards the Dead Zone border so we can get that pesky sword away from him. Let's go, team.]

[It's not difficult to view Arthas' approach. Now knowing that the heroes had time to prepare, he spared no time of his own in massing the forces required to defend himself and the rest of the villainous horde. Riful had pressed ahead toward the castle, while Arthas had turned and begun to head for the town.

An ear-piercing scream would break the silence of the castle grounds and overhead would appear a familiar sight to a few of the gathering guests -- Arthas Menethil, mounted on the spine of his faithful steed Invincible, no doubt the source of the horrid cacophony that plagued the airwaves. Blow him charged a horde of at least thirty rotting ghouls, leaping and bounding like rabid dogs, hungry for battle.

No more games. No more waiting. No more being told to be patient. This would be the final stand. He would have them, he would have them all --]

[One advantage (and perhaps, on occasion, disadvantage) to being the chosen wielder of Frostmourne was that you always knew where your constructs lurked about. They were as much apart of you as you were of them -- you made them what they were, after all.

Koltira's and Sylvanas' presence ruins any semblance of surprise for the team -- the moment they are in sight distance, Arthas knows they are there. And where Koltira and Sylvanas stand together, they stand with warriors and those who would see him fall. A maniacal laugh, deep and echoing, would sound with the roars of the army below. Invincible would turn sharply in the air, the horde following suit in perfect unison.

The horse would scream again, kicking its front limbs as Arthas commanded his legion forward with that horrible blade, posing the charge straight at the gathered group in front of him. And forward the Scourge charges, ready to meet anything that would stand in their way with full force.]

[First thing Courage does? Clap his paws over his ears. The urge to stuff his head into the dirt like an ostrich is growing. When he sees the...ARE THOSE ZOMBIES?...moving towards them it suddenly feels like a very good idea.]

[while the rout was going on, Ray has unobtrusively edged his way toward the border of the Dead Zone, proton pack slung on his back, and his trap hung from his hip. he mostly watched the battle, knowing he wasn't any good at fighting, and trying to help would only get him in the way and hurt more than harm. but now that he sees Arthas being pushed back, he can't help but smirk.

yeah. this is it. he can feel the old, familiar combination of adrenaline, fear, and certainty. it's time to bust some heads. in a spiritual sense. he fires up his proton pack and calls out to whoever's volunteered to help him wrangle traps]

Okay, guys, here he comes! Don't open the traps 'till I give the signal! Let everyone push him back!

[Danny spots Ray getting ready out of the corner of his eye. He draws back from the battle for a moment and concentrates fiercely as he call upon one of hos most recently mastered abilities. The ghost glows brightly, and then a second glow appears next to him. After a few seconds the light dies down, revealing two identical Phantoms. They nod to each other, and then separate as the second Phantom leves the main battle to join Ray.]

[Freaked out and utterly exhausted, Courage pops up at Ray's elbow. He's helping, dammit.]

What do I do? What do I do?
