The beads are meant to help you keep track of your mantras.

Here are a few I recommend to start:

Let the studies that we undertake together be effulgent
Let there be no animosity amongst us
Aum Shanthi, shanthi, shanthihi.

From ignorance, lead me to truth.
From darkness, lead me to light.
From death, lead me to immortality.
Aum peace, peace, peace.

Use these to help clear your mind and settle your emotions.
