I think if they truly wanted anything the castle would make sure to do the opposite.

I don't know. It depends what the castle gets from us being here. Why we're here at all. If it's linked to us being alive, something related to that, then probably not.

But I can't say there might not be ways, just that I don't know any, and most the dead are resurrected.

Maybe. What's the gain? Nothing to the dead, not from what I understand, but maybe... to the living?

Would the castle get anything from the rest of us, kill someone for that?

Suppose the castle needs our energy. True death could give off energy, for a little while. Or the emotions of people who react to that death. The castle might like it.
