TOWN tidalsurge June 23 2011, 18:02:48 UTC
[ This place is a ghost town. There's no sign of life in it at all, unless you count the rattlesnakes you can hear and the scorpions you can see crawling about. Houses are half buried in sand, walls are blown open, and the place doesn't look like it's seen habitation any time within the last decade. What gives? ]

Are ponies the only kinds of animals that can talk where you come from?

[Shakes head no.]

Oh, no... Dragons can talk, and cows, and mules...

[The dragon bit he knew]

Everything with hooves? [And he's mine a hoof...as if she didn't know]

I mean, other than the dragons. Dragons can usually talk. I haven't met one myself, but my cousin Frodo's uncle did once, and he could talk for sure.

You might meet one when we get back to the castle... Our friend Spike came with us, and he's a baby dragon...

[Dragons are usually bad news as far as Pippin knows]

Ah. Well...if he's friends with you I'm sure he's very nice.

[yes ♥ she likes this place already hence the name Death Hill! Of course! ;;

despite every indication that no one aside from the crew is here, Shizuru will knock on the nearest doors, it's the polite thing to do after all. That she accidentally punches through the last one is simply...unfortunate]

... [what do]

[that was something Peter didn't expect to see]

Did you... do that on purpose?

No. [she holds up the offending hand closer up wordlessly -- gah, splinters] The houses are more fragile than they seem.

[reaches for her hand. Thank goodness he thought to bring some first aid supplies with him] Here, let me help with that.

[a mildly surprised blink, then she obediently extends her hand] Thank you.

[smiles and starts taking out the splinters gently] It's no trouble.

[a chuckle] It troubles me, having such an embarrassing moment for all to witness.

Anyone could've made the same mistake. You don't have anything to be embarrassed about.

Well...it's what I get for thinking there might still be people living here, I suppose.
