Because - there's no Batman on my Earth. Gotham is run by a supervillain, Owlman, and I was his sidekick, until I ran away. I tried to join the Titans in your world, but they kicked me out when they found out I used to be a villain, and I just... I kind of figured you guys would do the same if I told the truth.
