I'm settling in fine, thank you. As best I can with all the tricks the Castle has been playing. [ Some which she particularly doesn't wish to ever speak about. coughbabycough. ]

I'd like that. I'm free anytime - so any time that suits you suits me just fine.

I guess we should start off small, then. [ she smiles ] Which region did you live in?

[He laughs, somewhat relieved.] That's much easier. I'm from Marathat, which is a Protectorate with it's capital in the city of Mélusine.

Sounds like Meduse suffers from the Halliwell name-everything-starting-with-one-letter. I think Grams would approve of that naming system.

Did you like it in - forgive me if I pronounce it wrong - Marathat?

Well, its isn't all the names, but I suppose that it does somewhat. Halliwell is where you hail from, I take it?

[The name, like most in Marathat, sounds vaguely French] Close enough. Marathat was home, whatever can be said about it. I lived there most of my life, after all. Familiarity is a powerful thing.

Halliwell's my family name. I'm from San Francisco, in the United States. It's not as interesting as Meduse, but it has it's moments.

Oh, it definitely is. I'm just starting to realise that. As much as I wanted to get out of the Manor and live on my own, I really miss living with my sisters. Is living here very different from home?

The population aside, I was actually struck very early on by how much Paradisa reminds me of Mélusine. At least outwardly there are quite a few similarities: the architecture, the clothing, then technology level. Even the presence of the castle is like that of the Mirador - [he chuckles slightly] there is your other 'M'. The Mirador was the center of of our government, and where I lived for many years. It does not have a consciousnesses in quite the same way as Cair Paradisa does, but several centuries of magic being infused - intentionally and unintentionally - into the walls has caused it to take on a peculiar life of it's own.
