One of your babies?

The castle gave you more? [Suddenly Kat's feeling a mite better about her situation. In the background --]

Mommy, I want--

I'm using that. Go play with your ... whatever.

Hello Commander... Yes, twin babies, one boy and one girl. They're lovely.

[Marian's laugh has just a slight tone of desperation, but that may drown by the sound of a wailing baby and a still snoring Guy and baby boy in the background.]

[Oh, she catches that desperation, in part because she's pretty good at reading people, but also; she can emphasize.]

You need any help? I have a couple babysitters on standby. [Fail!Mother at her best.]

You do? Oh... Someone you know and... trust?

Congratulations to your child! Is it a boy or a girl? [Heh, action!girls must stick together, even in motherhood.]

[oh lord. Christening? ...you just like making him have to be a real priest, don't you.]

A-ah... a Christening, hm? I have to admit, that's the first for me...!

And-- ah. Thank you...! I should have seen this coming from last year, but... it still took me by surprise.

[Mwahaha, Marian knows how to be evil in her goodness.]

Oh... I see! Your duties haven't included Christening?

[Odd? Odd. Hmmm, but then again...]

I hope it's not too bothersome, Abel...?

N-no! No, not at all...! I'd be-- honored, of course, if that's what you'd like--!

Of course I do! Castle or not, they must have souls, mustn't they? It feels like the right thing to do. Also, the castle might understand that it's done in appreciation of this wonder...

[Wanting to placate the castle much? Oh yes.]

Giving them something cold to chew on might help. [She's read some parenting books by now.]

Something cold? Like... what?

[Grateful Marian is grateful but befuddled brain is befuddled.]

I think it's called a teether. You freeze the teether and let the baby chew on it.

Really! Another modern thing... I must get one of those!

I heard that you and Father Abel have a child as well?

[Give her a moment to dig back into the recesses of her memory. It's been a long time since she's thought about this.]

A cool cloth would not be amiss. It should sooth the child somewhat. [Teething rings, what are those?]

It seems your new charges are a good deal younger than mine.

Lady Galadriel! Oh, a cold cloth... That sounds good!

...you have a child too? Congratulations!

I take it you have not much experience with children?

[Marian sounds a great deal more enthusiastic about this than Galadriel does, but that might simply be because she has magic!children with someone she cares for and not a near-stranger. Nonetheless, her tone is warm; it's not the child's fault that his father is not Celeborn.]

Indeed I do and you have my thanks for the sentiment.

[In fact, you may hear the sounds of a small toddler playing in the background.]

[She has some, but...]

I have some, but I've never dealt with two babies at once...then there's their father, Guy, who's sometimes the biggest baby of them all... But he's really wonderful with them, I never expected that.

[Marian's voice is warm as well, both in regards to the children and Guy. Then there's the great comfort in talking to Galadriel. She's busy wetting a cloth with cold water. ]

So, do I let her chew on the cloth or is this for her forehead? She has a slight fever... Is that your child I hear, milady? Is it a boy or a girl?
