[great. The last people she wants to catch her like this are the ones she's just met and still getting to know. She catches herself before she glances his way, aiming to move past him on her way out as if she didn't hear him]

[she takes half a step back, but luckily most of her friends are inhuman freaks, so can mostly focus on being pissed off instead of his feral features.

Also, luckily she's just out of a shower, so there isn't as much of the scent of Vicious all over her as there was before]

[It turned out Spike was a little too late to find her in his room, and he was only marginally relieved that the floor wasn't stained in someone's blood by the time he got to it. There was always the chance that Vicious had been bluffing, but there were enough signs that someone had been there to make him doubt. Which means he has something coming to him.

Honestly, he'd be in a better mood if he'd ended up in the clinic instead of wasting his quality time trying to out-manipulate a guy who had spent weeks setting him up. By the time it was over, all he had to show was more frustration and the nagging dread of finding the consequences of hesitation. So he searched, because as much as he doubted she'd be happy to see him, it was important to check if she was alive.

Bumping into her on the way out has to be some kind of luck. He stops in his tracks as soon as she comes around the corner, unsure of how to react.]

[there is a moment of mild surprise-- she hadn't expected to find him. Part of her had wondered if she might ever have run into him again, with the way that he was hiding and she was running. Nevermind the way that Vicious has of interrupting lives around him.

The moment of uncertainty, though--her standing there and showcasing every bruise that man left her with--it doesn't last.

All that anger that she's been able to do nothing with but sit in a dark room and simmer with for more than a day, it all comes storming back.

[She looks better than he expected. Nothing looks cut off, anyway. She's breathing. Angry at him, sure, but that's normal. Spike doesn't ask what happened. Somehow with the way she's storming towards her he thinks that might not go over well, so he doesn't say anything at all.]

[unlike most other times that she has faced off with him, there is no hesitation this time.

As soon as she closes that distance, walking right up into his space, she swings. She's not thinking about whether it's a smart idea or not, or if he's going to catch her, or whether he even knows why she's attacking him. She's not thinking about much. It's just something she needs]

[Sup, Faye, guess who's lounging on your couch. She's been quiet for 24 hours and that's mildly concerning. So he went to the one place he knew he could run into her.

Oh, but she has a bag. Interesting...]

Leaving again? I think that's a new record for you.

[she bristles a little when she hears his voice, but keeps on walking, hoping he won't notice the bruises and the raw wrists and she can just get out of here in peace]

[Too bad, Faye, he sees them. He gets up and strides over, almost reaching out to grab her arm before thinking better of it and deciding instead to walk beside her]

[not looking up at him as she goes, though one hand subconsciously moves to clasp itself over the worst of the damage to her wrist, ignoring the sting of it. She's so close]

[any of the usual reactions-- smiles, a laugh, even mocking... none of them make an appearance. She just glances at him as she goes to continue her way out]

... [his shoulders slump ever so slightly. he knows what that means - Faye's doing her disappearing act, again. he'd figured she was due for one, but that doesn't mean he has to be happy about it]
