Twenty-Fourth Issue - Stupid is as Stupid does

[Despite having a talk with several of his friends, being significantly cheered up over the loss of his teammates, Jono still feels like there's more he could be doing. He hasn't been attending regular Danger Room sessions since Julian had been put in charge, but now that he wasn't, Jono feels like he can mesh better with the team. However, in order to catch up to where they're all at, he's in the Danger Room now, exercising using one of his own customized programs. There are little sentry robots flitting about, challenging his ability to aim his powers while under stress. His journal is open up in the control room, catching the occasional sound of a robot blowing up, and the sounds of Jono ducking and diving and rolling about his simulated battlefield. There's a pause as Jono finishes destroying the first wave of robots.]

{Right then. Le's put th' difficulty up a few clicks, aye? I'm barely breakin' a sweat here!}

[A few seconds later, more robots can be heard, their mechanical whirring much more vicious than before. Jono's still holding his own fairly well, his powers spreading out from him, and lancing several robots all at once. What he doesn't realize, however, is that the Danger Room's difficulty level is much higher than he would have set had he actually gone up to the control room and set it by hand. He doesn't see the silent infiltrator drone sneaking up behind him for a deadly attack. It whizzes by him, catching him on the side of the head, alarming him and now putting him on the defensive. It turns for another pass, ducking and weaving through Jono's attempts to blast it out of the sky with his intense biokinetic blasts. In a sudden burst of speed, the drone flies right up to Jono, detonating itself mere inches from his face.]

{AAAAAAGH!!!!!!!}

[There is now an unconscious Jonothan Starsmore on the floor of the Danger Room. What do, Paradisa?]
