twenty-third labyrinth

[Now that his mood has recovered after the events of the last week, Felix is feeling rather chatty. Relieved of worry, his mind turns back to his favorite subject, which has come up quite frequently this month. Granted, he usually asked these questions of people who knew about magic, but after talking with Marian, he began to realize that the ( Read more... )

How do you research it?

[ Curioussss. And doesn't know he's on the filter. Which might be good. ]

It depends on each person. So far I prefer to see their magic work to get a sense of what it is and how it works, then go on to asking how it is the person in question controls it, then referencing that with whatever might be found in the library.

[...Pause, while he realizes who he's talking to and what he just said]

I didn't mention research outside of the filter...

That sounds pretty neat--

...a filter?

Yes. I was looking for people with magic, which apparently means that you do. At least in some sense. I wasn't being terribly specific, since, to be frank, many people here seem to have abilities which seem very much like magic to me, but aren't, whereas the reverse is also true.

Magic is something that all unicorns can use to aid them, though some are more skilled in its use than others.

And, ah, unicorns are the only beings in your world that can use magic, then?

sew_whiny April 21 2011, 03:35:07 UTC
That's correct, as far as I'm aware.

I see. What sort of magic do they have, then? What are it's capabilities?

Yeah. I can use fire magic, a few healing spells and one barrier type. My demons have their own set of skills too.

Your demons? What do you mean by that?

What counts as powers or things happening.

Ah. Well, that's not entirely for me to decide, though for most magic is making something happen that normally is not possible, not with effort of the body, necessarily, but with the mind or spirit. It's why I asked what magic is because it's so different from world to world.

Trust me, I've run into a few already who deny it completely, or insist it's some form of technology.

Would say that only supernatural beings can use magic?

I'm asking because I am interested. It is no more nefarious that that, I assure you. My goal is to research magic, but in this place that is such a hard thing to define. In my own world, for example, I would never have believed magic could make a person fly or become invisible. It's likely not even possible, but I've seen it here.

[He caught that superiors remark and is unbelievably curious, but he senses this guy's hesitation to discuss it]

If you find it more agreeable, you can filter anything you say directly to me.

Like this. My name is Felix.

((ooc: You can have the filter in the subject header next. ^.^))
