Uhh ... thanks. [ She wants to say something because she heard about him disappearing but wasn't sure how she was supposed to feel about it, but now it just feels ... awkward. All of this feels awkward. After a pause, she finally forces it out. ] How are you doing, anyway?

its kind of amazing how many expressions humans have that involve these sordid receptacles
are they really that normal for you guys?
...
also since it would be kind of rude to post here solely about various cultural weirdnesses
happy birthday

Uhhh, thanks. But, I'm not sure what sordid receptacle you mean. The Pie Hole? It's -- I mean, yeah, I guess I get what you're saying, there are a lot of words for it. But I just mean the bakery in town ...

[Despite the fact that he's got other things on his mind right now, Jono catches Claire's voice in the journal. When he dictates back, his "voice" will sound tired, shaky, but he's trying hard to sound "normal".]

{Only in Paradisa, aye? Happy Birthday, Claire.}

Thanks, Jono. [ ... she's not sure if she should ask, because she knows she probably wouldn't want anyone to, but ... well she's kind of a hypocrite that way. ] Everything okay?

[Normally, he'd just hide behind sarcasm and be his usual self, but he's feeling a bit exposed, so she's getting Jono unfiltered.]

{Had better days, t'be sure. You catch Little Miss Know-It-All th' other night? Think I mighta given th' poor girl brain damage by accident. Serves 'er right, I s'pose.}

Jono ...

Please tell me you're talking figurative brain damage and not literal. Because believe me, I wanted to punch her in the face as much as the next person, but that's not going to get any of us anywhere.

None of the animals here are normal, I swear.

Like the ones that are just unfortunate castle residents, for instance?

I've seen a lot of talking animals back home but... I guess Paradisa never fails to surprise you. One of the residents is a reindeer slash doctor.
