[In the Ineffable Plan, many things were undecipherable and not meant to be understood by mortal men. However, some things were laid out in black and white1. Like thou shalt not murder, and wearing pink and lime green together causes a seizure in Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen. One of the lesser known laws of the universe, was that angels whose names began with A and ended with Ziraphale2 were not permitted to use innuendo at any time.

Apparently Paradisa had not received this memo3, as a certain angel woke up this morning with a distinct difference to his vocabulary. When he spoke, his voice was reminiscent of a middle-aged Italian professor called Pablo, which was quite a feat considering he retained his British accent, and every word was layered in suggestion.

The journal is open wide on the table, catching Aziraphale's voice as he speaks to one of the ghosts who is working in the library.]

That's a stiff leather binding, allow me to shelve that for you.

1. Or stone coloured and slightly engraved grooves, if you wanted to be accurate about the way the rules were originally laid out on Moses' tablets.

2. Which was three of them. Aziraphale, Aeziraphale and A'ziraphale -- Aziraphale didn't speak to his two name counterparts, they both worked for accounting and were too dull for words.

3. Not surprising, as Heaven's memo system was hugely outdated. If you wanted mail on time, you had to go to Hell for that.

[ooc: Loss start, oh God. Open.]
