What's the longest somebody's gone without getting smacked by a loss on top of a loss in this place, anyway? I just came up on month five and already I have this feeling like the other shoe is waiting to drop. I am definitely good with girl time.

Also, I have had one loss in two years.

Great. Your room or mine? I figure we can make the other two just come to us and -- wait. Two years? Seriously? Talk about lucky.

Either works. As luck would have it, it's actually clean right now, too.

And yeah, I lucked out on that. Hopefully that lucky streak will stick with me.

Fingers crossed on your account and mine. Let's go with yours, then, because my cleaning habits have been sorely neglected lately.

Well. Sort of. It's kind of complicated. You're new, huh? [ she tries to overcome her fail explanation life and spit one out. ]

Sometimes the castle will curse people and make things really complicated. A friend of mine wound up possessed by a psychotic goddess -- which, I promise, is a totally extreme case. But, the point is, it's just kinda easier to call them losses, since it all sort of falls under the same "crap the castle pulls on us" category.

And I'm still figuring out my first. [ okay, she'd been trying not to think about it ]

There's like a period of safety right? Not having anything extra when you're new?

I'm not really sure. If it makes you feel better, I've had zilch and I'm five months in? A friend of mine's gone two years with only one.

[laughs lightly]

Sorry. The best we've been able to tell is that it varies from person to person.

Okay you've officially progressed into slightly more reassuring territory. I mean, five months loss-free (mostly, obviously) is pretty promising right?

[WAIT... WAT.... cue confusion] Excuse me, but... More losses? What do you mean by that? I thought everyone just stuck to one big loss and that was it!

You're the best. Looks like we're gonna meet up in Cassie's room -- because she's next door to me and you and Kara just get to make the journey down here.
