there's somethin' weird - and it don't look good

[the camera crew has done their work, and everything is set. now Ray's just monitoring ... and flipping through what's been found so far, double-checking the things he already has.

he goes to move a pile of books back where they belong, and one tumbles to the floor. as he kneels down to pick it up, he notices something he missed - a single page, sticking out loose from the back of the book.]

Hey, now. Where'd you come from?

[he picks it up, and unfolds it, giving it a cursory scan, then heads back over to the journal immediately, once he sees a certain word that starts in "S" and ends in "lenderman".]

Hey.

Hey, everyone. I found another one. It looks like -- [he's slightly breathless at the thought of making a discovery, himself] It looks like some sorta list. ... Numbered "685" ... no name, no indication of where it came from ...

[and he'll start reading it, aloud. nope. no filters for this guy]

"When dealing with Slenderman" - geez, the spelling's abysmal!

"Number one. Recognize ..." [his voice drops as the bottom drops out of his heart] ... "it is ... your fault. Slenderman does not know his bearings well and is a wanderer, but once he has taken the scent of a child he will gradually find his way there." ... how ... wait, what? How is that ...

[he shakes his head, makes a small noise of disbelief, and keeps reading]

"Number two. Sacrifice is a trick. Slenderman does not care for adults; he thrives on drinking recently-corrupted blood that he has corrupted himself. Adults are all long corrupted." ... See, so ... so that's why the bloodletting didn't work, it's ... oh, geez.

"Number three. Burn any infected woods. If you do not, you stand no chance." ... And someone said something about there being Creepy Tree saplings out there, too ... this is looking ... pretty bad.

"Number four. Cair Paradisa hates..." Well, that's weird.

[he flips over the page, then picks up the book he found it in and shakes it. nothing. he draws in a deep breath, then huffs it out in a quick, disturbed sigh]

It stops there. No punctuation or anything. Like ... like ...

[he looks around the library, and instantly reaches for his PKE meter. tersely] Like the author got spirited away while they were writing it.

We'd better get seriously cracking, here, folks. I do not like the way this is heading.
