[Paige walks over and holds out a small bottle that has a cork in it's mouth. Inside is a dark purple liquid]

Hold onto this. If you see something that might be this guy, throw it at him. If it works like it should it'll stun him for a moment. I only made a couple though so be careful.

[Felix takes the vial carefully, conscious of the stiffness of his fingers. He holds it up to allow light to filter through it, fascinated by the very idea this object represents]

I will treat it like the child I will likely never have. Truly, though, it's ingenious what you can do, Paige. I might be tempted to be jealous.

Don't be silly, Felix. You're pretty awesome yourself. And this isn't half of what my sisters can do.

[Felix doesn't quite know what to do with real praise, so he goes ever so slightly red in the face and tucks the vial in his coat pocket]

Well, we might want to reserve judgment on that until we know if this even works at all. And besides, I'm a Cabaline. Warding is what we do.

I hope you are right. We should probably make things more inviting in here, though. Wards or no, it's a lot of empty space.

[once the ballroom was ready and set, Paige left again to work on scrying, but now she's back for a bit of a break and to check on things. She hears Maeve's comment and smiles]

He's there and he is pressing his hand to Felix's shoulder. It has been stressful for everyone and he is very out of his depth with what is going on.]

[Felix places his hand over Ashura's, smiling. It's plain he's exhausted. The ballroom is a HUGE area to ward, and it took a lot of his strength to do it]

I won't. I put the chair here for a reason. And I should be fine in a few hours in any case. The bulk of the work is done...

[He is worried. He fears Felix is one of those to push himself to far and hurt himself because of it, and he does not want that. This whole episode has taken a lot out of everyone, and Felix, he thinks, more than most with all this warding.]

Perhaps you had best let your assistants handle the last touches.

[Ashura is probably right to worry. Not only is Felix used to working alone, but frankly, he doesn't care at all what this might do to him. After all, he deserves the pain. In a way, almost needs it...]

They may have to, if there is anything I missed.

We still don't even know what we're trying to protect them from, and longer we take to look for clues, the more of them we loose...
