The Ninth Day

[Shiki's been out and about again, just, you know, doing stuff, having fun, etc. And, in the process of doing a lot of nothing, she wanders into the lobby.

In the lobby, she finds herself looking into a reflective, mirror-y surface. And then she stops and stares at it... more specifically, at her reaction. And then she starts messing with it.

[Shiki puts down the bags she's holding, not entirely paying attention to her surroundings, and begins poking and prodding at herself in earnest.]

Nose... too small and cute! Why isn't my nose bigger? It's not... it's not me enough!!

[batting at your feet now. he thinks your voice is funny.]

[It takes her a moment to feel him through her boots, but then she looks down, startled, and takes a moment to respond.]

O-Oh... um, hello there...

[Yeah. She's still kinda out of it.]

[And Haruhi comes into the lobby halfway through Shiki's near-panic. She's holding a cup of coffee and a plate with a banana and some lumpy cookies -- an odd snack, maybe, while she sits in her room and reads. Her eyebrows crook slightly; she can't seem to understand what the other girl is going on about, but she shakes her head at herself. It's probably not important, anyway.

She moves to stand next to Shiki, offering the plate toward her, as if telling her to take a cookie.]

Are you alright?

[And her clothes are gender-neutral. Go ahead and take a guess at her sex, Shiki- she won't be bothered by either possible conclusion. :|a]

[Shiki turns to her, eyes somewhat filled with tears. She has no idea if this is some effect of the castle's, or if it's just what naturally came of seeing someone else's reflection in the mirror for too long, but no. She is not alright. She doesn't entirely notice the offered plate of cookies, but just looks into Haruhi's face.]

No, I... I'm not me!!

[siebter]

[ And here is someone walking carefully over to her, looking about as concerned as one can when his eyes are completely covered by bandages. ]

Miss? Are you okay?

[stalkershiki]

[Shiki's tugging at her clothes now, trying to make them look different on her... even if that can't really happen. She spins to the other person's voice though, almost hysterical now.]

I'm not me anymore!! I... I wanna be me again...

[siebter]

But...

[ There's a brief pause before he speaks again. ]

...then who are you?

{ ooc; hey youuuu. long time no thread! }

I don't know!! I mean, I'm Shiki Misaki... but this isn't my body! This isn't who I am!!

[She turns to him, eyes somewhat wild.]

I don't know!!

...Are you okay?

I... I mean, I... I want my body back!!

[This is not one of the oddest things Hinata has ever seen as she's done it herself so many times throughout her life. But it wasn't the first thing she was expecting to see upon returning to the castle.

She doesn't know what you look like, Shiki, but she does know your voice.]

Um... Is there something wrong, Shiki-san?

Everything about me is wrong!! I... I'm not right... I shouldn't look like this...!!

Should...should you look like someone else? [The thought of having a different body is one that hasn't crossed her mind. So she very obviously thinks there's some very superficial things that need to be changed.]

Um, bu-but I do think that so long as you act like you...then things should be all right..?

No- I mean- yes- I mean... this just... isn't my body! This is my friend Eri's body and my own body was my loss when I got here, and even if I'm still me I want my own looks back!!
