Um, a few days... [after he saw that ghost he kind of... hasn't been leaving his room often. only to go to Zoro's room at the most. :x]

It's quite possible. There are books representing the worlds we come from, and magical worlds woulld hold magical books.

Or it could be an enchantment from the castle. I tried to find certain books and instead, they all tried to attack me. So... it could be that the castle's enchantment won't allow you to look at certain books.
