[...Kat's on a loss? Well, York figured that lovey-dovey bullshit wasn't going to last.]

[Wait, that sounds like Wash in pain in the background.

...

He said something stupid, didn't he.]

If you're asking that, the loss is over, isn't it?

No, it's not. It just got worse. [Okay, that's actually not true. But still not happy funtimes here.]

Temporary or permanent?

If it's permanent I'm going to kill him.

[A frustrated sigh,] No, probably just temporary.

.....

Duration typically lasts one week to one month. Currently, there is no known method that can be used to end them sooner than the time that has been allocated by Cair Paradisa.

He'd better hope it doesn't last a month.

[Sounding oh so tired and pissed off,] Wonderful. My own little personal hell.

Any loopholes depend on the type of loss, I guess. But I know going into the Dead Zone can get rid of a loss. For me it was only temporary, until I got back, but it could stick for some other people.

What happened?

[Not mentioning the previous few days where she was head over heels for this nutjob she's currently chained to.]

[Deadpan,] I'm currently chained to the one person in this castle I detest the most, and no I can't break it; I already tried. [Frustrating thing was that she should have been able to; chain like that should have snapped like sewing thread.]

Oh. I think you're stuck, unless both of you want to try going into the Dead Zone and see if that'll make the chain breakable.

I'd be up for it, but he just got back from an extended vacation out there. [Read; the last of the disappeared victims to return] I doubt he'll be as willing.

[And as he still seems to be in pain, she can't really ask him.] Of course, I could probably convince him it'd be for his own good ...

[Finally recovered enough to say something. Though that;s not really a good thing.] You know, you really are a rotten bitch.

And here I thought I was being nice by not using my full strength.

We might have an out. Jr. says Losses don't work in the Dead Zone. We go there, hack through the chain, see what happens when we come back. [She's been busy, yo.]

[Except, you know hasn't yet decided to get dressed. Just now starting to pull on your clothes.]

You punched me in the balls. And if that was holding back, I don't think I ever want to feel full force.

It'll probably make the chain shorter as punishment once we come back and extend the loss.

I gave you plenty of warning, and if you don't want to feel it full force, then I suggest you stop with the derogatory nicknames, Recovery One.

We don't know that for sure. I say it's worth the risk.
