[So, Sam doesn't have four dogs anymore, but he still spends copious amounts of time outside. It's more than just the fact that Alice loves to run and sniff around and see what's going on, but also that sitting on a bench outside is still an acceptable form of brooding without going to the obvious places of the roof, or a bar.
It's probably rather sad that Sam actually thinks about these things, but go figure.
Sam is currently doing the sitting on the bench brooding thing while Alice wanders around and explores. He's got the journal on the bench next to him, just in case, but he's not really focusing on it, just loosing himself in his own thoughts.
